Three Strike Policy

Published on
May 28, 2025

To maintain a professional, trustworthy, and secure marketplace for all users, Currents enforces a Three-Strike Policy. This policy is designed to encourage responsible behavior and accountability among all participants in our platform. Below are the actions that may result in a strike. If a user accumulates three (3) strikes, their account will be suspended and may be subject to further review.

1. Backing Out of an Order

What it means:

Once an offer has been accepted and a transaction is in progress, both parties are expected to follow through. Backing out of an order—whether by canceling last-minute without cause, failing to fulfill agreed terms, or ghosting after commitment—undermines trust and disrupts the flow of business on our platform.

Why it matters:

Reliable order fulfillment is critical to our ecosystem. Buyers and sellers depend on each other to act in good faith and honor commitments. Backing out wastes time, causes delays, and can result in financial losses for the other party.

Strike Policy:

Users who back out of a committed order without a valid reason will receive one strike. Repeated offenses may lead to account suspension.

2. Sharing Contact Information Outside the Platform

What it means:

Users are prohibited from sharing personal or business contact information (e.g., phone numbers, emails, social media handles) through chat, profiles, or listings in an attempt to circumvent the platform.

Why it matters:

Sharing contact information off-platform threatens the integrity and security of Currents. It can lead to off-platform transactions that bypass our safeguards, dispute resolution tools, and payment protections. It also increases the risk of fraud, harassment, and other unsafe behaviors.

Strike Policy:

Any attempt to share contact information for the purpose of taking a transaction off-platform will result in a strike.

3. Not Honoring Agreed-Upon Offer Terms

What it means:

Once an offer is accepted, both parties are expected to honor the terms—including pricing, condition of goods, quantity, payment method, and timing. Any attempt to modify or ignore these terms after the fact without mutual consent is considered a violation.

Why it matters:

Changing agreed-upon terms erodes trust and introduces unnecessary conflict. Whether intentional or accidental, this behavior affects the experience for other users and can lead to disputes that harm both parties.

Strike Policy:

Users who do not adhere to the agreed terms of a deal will receive a strike. This includes shipping something other than what was described, adjusting prices post-agreement, or delaying fulfillment without cause.
