How to Create a Listing on the Currents Marketplace

Overview

This guide walks you through the process of listing your batteries on the Currents Marketplace — including setting your price, understanding fees, and optimizing your listing for better visibility.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Add Your Listing Price

Enter the price for your item.
You can set your price per cell or per module, depending on how your product is packaged or sold.

💡 Tip: Specify the unit type in your listing description so buyers know how your pricing is structured.
Example: “Price shown is per cell.”

2. Review Your Earnings

When you set your listing price, your net earnings will automatically update.

3. Add Shipping Information

If you skip the shipping section, automated LTL (Less-Than-Truckload) quoting will not be available for your listing.

⚠️ Note: To take advantage of automated shipping quotes, always include shipping dimensions, weight, and pickup location.

4. Submit Your Listing

Click Submit to publish your listing.

The listing will sync to the Marketplace within about one minute. Once synced, you’ll see:

  • Your title and description
  • Your price

5. Understand Buyer Pricing

Currents adds a small buyer fee to listings so that “what you see is what you pay” — helping prevent checkout surprises for buyers.

6. Manage Offers

Buyers can:

  • Click Make Offer
  • Enter their offer amount
  • Add terms such as “buyer covers shipping”
  • Select their preferred delivery location

Expect to receive offers with varying terms; review and accept them directly from your seller dashboard.

7. Complete Listing Details

Ensure your listing includes:

  • Battery make and model information (e.g., “Samsung 50D”)
  • Cathode chemistry and any additional specs
  • High-quality photos

📸 Pro Tip: Listings with multiple clear photos sell faster and receive more buyer engagement.

Managing Multiple Locations

If your company operates across several facilities, you can manage each location’s inventory separately under your Company tab.
Before creating or editing listings, double-check that you have the correct location selected in your dashboard.

Summary

  1. Add unlisted inventory first using the “Add Unlisted Inventory” button.
  2. Combine unlisted items into listings once ready.
  3. Fill out all available fields for better visibility.
  4. Add plenty of photos.
  5. Verify your selected location before submitting.
